The top 5 apps so far are: Splash Math, See Touch Learn Pro, Brain Pop, Bugs and Bubbles, and iTooch If you leave me an extra comment at the voting post for your SECOND most favorite app I’ll give you an extra entry in the contest and hopefully we can get our next top five apps chosen! Looks like there is some confusion!  I’m trying to get 10 apps, 5 have been selected, for your second choice please vote for an app that ISN’T in the top 5 already – thanks!

iTunes $25 Gift Card US Store

Last year we asked our readers to leave a comment with their FAVORITE homeschooling app of the previous year for our Reader’s Choice 2011 awards!  The top 10 apps were recipients of this honor, and you can find the list here.

Well, now that 2012 has come to a close, let’s do it again!  Please help us choose the top 10 apps of 2012 according to our readers by leaving a comment.  Just type in your top pick for 2012 and I’ll calculate the results at the end of the voting period.

By doing so, you’ll be eligible to win a $25 iTunes GC (US Only – but please comment if you are in another country – we need your vote too!)

This giveaway is very simple and straight-forward, please read the details, then get to entering!

GIVEAWAY DETAILS:

I have a $25 iTunes Gift Card to the US iTunes store to giveaway to one winner to spend on apps for your homeschool.  You must have a US iTunes account to redeem this card.  I will be emailing the card code to the selected winner by email instead of sending a physical card.

*To enter let me know your favorite educational app of 2012 – this single entry is the only one available for the giveaway.  One vote/entry per house hold.*

The contest will close at 12 a.m. AST on Monday, February 11th, 2013. One (1) winner will be randomly drawn for the iTunes Gift card code on Tuesday, February 12th, 2013 and notified by email. Please fill your email address in the comment form when you are completing your comment so that I can contact you and send you your gift card code.  Please confirm my email notifying you of your win ASAP and I’ll then email you the code!

  21. We really love the ITooch apps, great for math and especially great for english/language arts. Lots of variety in the questions and more then just pick the right answer. A little pricy, but I don’t mind paying a little more for a quality product. A real gem.

Wow,what a difficult task to narrow down your favorite homeschooling app amongst all the subjects, learning styles, and grade llevels available. Hands down the most informative and documentable is Splash Math. This is a very important feature if you are a parent who turns in a portfolio review to meet state requirements. Ned the Neron and D.Bones are excellent interactive anatomy apps. Sight word hangman and compound words are great for spelling and word recognition whereas SAT vocab is great for expanding vocabulary. Mulishani ‘s state or WW Capitals are great geography flash cards. Colorvacuum is fun for art. Don Quixote and The Plague are two fun books/ games for playing history. Finally, one game I do like for my 10yr. old son is Where’s my Water. It’s fun and strategy is needed to complete a level and maximize points.

  34. Splash Math is awesome…worth the price for us.

  35. mandy nite /

  36. Sherri Burgan /

I have to say the Bob book apps for my preschooler. We have the books already but she loves to play the app as well. It helps reinforce what she is learning in trying to read.

It’s hard to choose; there are so many great apps we enjoy! The “I learn with Boing” apps are ots of fun, but I think “Bugs and Bubbles” is our current favorite.

My favorite app is Human Body by Chocolapps. We studied all the major systems!

  45. Cell and cell structure is a great science app

  46. Priscilla /

Stack the States is what my 10 year old would say, it is good but this next app teaches it is more of a variety, plus I like the colors/images of Grammar Wonderland
