Finally – a seriously educational app that leads children from early phonological awareness and phonics right up to reading full sentences while integrating printing skills and teaching through games. Reading Raven is an incredible learn-to-read app, easily the best I’ve encountered to date in the App Store. I’m in love, and so are my kids.

Sight Words and Spelling with Pixopop HD is a cute, well-designed app with characters and rewards that appeal to children. The ability to set up custom lists, track your child’s progress, and other helpful options set this app above your standard sight words app.

Noodle Words is the most fun I’ve ever had exploring words with my children. We sat down together and laughed, and tapped, and giggled – the words and bugs not only intrinsically demonstrate the meaning of each word, but they also have an awful lot of fun doing so! I hope new word sets are coming soon.
